Satellite Blood Bank steps up to help Londiani accident victims in blood donation.

After the road carnage at Londiani Junction in Kericho County which claimed life of 52 people and scores badly injured. Kericho Technical Training Institute in conjunction with Blood Transfusion Services-Kericho Satellite Blood Bank conducts a blood donation drive to help the victims ongoing with treatment at Londiani Sub-County Hospital & Kericho Referral Hospital respectively. Blood donation drive scheduled to take place in the Kericho Technical Training Vocational Centre (KETTVC) for two days 5th and 6th of July starting from 9AM to 4PM, as Kericho Satellite Blood Bank call for members of the public to come forth in donating blood to assist mitigate the gap. Speaking Wednesday during the official commissioning of the ultra-modern Kericho water supply project in Ainamoi constituency where President Dr. William Ruto officiated in the commissioning of the project, Rono said that the project cost a total of Sh1.2 billion to its completion. Rono said that the water works project would entirely supply water to residents of Kericho town, Ainamoi, Kipkelion East, and parts of Belgut mostly through gravitational means. During the training at Kericho Green Stadium, Kericho team coach Sammy Bii hinted that they are well prepared to participate in South Rift Regional championship set to take place in Narok county on 10th June,2023.  It is by a whisker that this county has failed to be involved in Olympic games both locally and internationally by providing either athletes or coaches. The upcoming events will be a no short of variety of teams comprising a total number of six counties in South Rift region, namely (Kericho, Bomet, Narok, Kajiado, Nakuru and Laikipia counties).  “We have fully prepared a strong united team of sixty-two athletes, which will be representing Kericho county in the staged Regional championships. Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF) a government organization, today undertook a tree planting exercise at Siwot Secondary School in Chilchilla Ward inline to the National Government initiative dubbed “JazaMiti” that was launched by President William Ruto in December 2022. The Fund conducted sensitization on its products, entrepreneurship training and how to navigate group dynamics in Chilchilla Ward, Kericho County. And also they gave a dummy cheque worth Kshs.500, 000 to Chilchilla Ward funded groups. The students, who had qualified for the second round of the contest after successfully participating in the first round, exuded confidence that they would make it to the third round of the mathematical Olympiad, having rigorously prepared for the contest.
